Congressman Dan Goldman Condemns Great Replacement Theory
Racist Theory Root Cause for String of Mass Shootings and Terrorist Acts
Goldman Reaffirms Commitment to Ensure that Hate Has No Home in New York
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Congressman Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) in introducing a resolution to condemn the white supremacist “Great Replacement Theory” that inspired multiple mass shootings and hateful acts including the Buffalo, NY grocery store shooting in 2022. The resolution condemns racial violence as well as the beliefs that are used to falsely justify them and reaffirms Congress’s responsibility to combat white supremacy.
“The ‘Great Replacement Theory’ and the hate that sits at its foundation touches the root of racism and bigotry in America,” Congressman Dan Goldman said. “At a time when hate crimes are reaching record-breaking levels, we must take a stand against those who gleefully promulgate an idea that is nothing more than the institutionalization of white supremacy and xenophobia. I am proud to join Congressman Bowman in taking a stand to ensure that these views and the people who support them have no place in our government, in our state, or in our country.”
Congressman Dan Goldman is committed to fighting to root out racism and white supremacy in the United States in all its forms. Last month, Congressman Goldman cosponsored the ‘Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act’ to improve black maternal health care outcomes. In April, the Congressman cosponsored the Black Maternal Health Week 2023 Resolution to raise awareness of the Black maternal health crisis.
