Statement from Rep. Dan Goldman on Netanyahu's Extremist West Bank Explansion Plan

“I strongly oppose the decision by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to approve further expansion of settlements in the West Bank while he also asserts blanket opposition to a future Palestinian state. 

“I continue to believe that the only viable path for Israel to remain both a Jewish state and a vibrant, pluralistic democracy is for all people in the region — including Palestinians — to live peacefully and securely in their own state. Additional settlements in the West Bank, and the unacceptable violence against Palestinians that accompanies them, are yet another step by Prime Minister Netanyahu and his extremist government that unjustly hurts Palestinians, isolates Israel, undermines democracy, and sabotages peace in the region.  

“President Trump must aggressively pressure Prime Minister Netanyahu to cease settlement expansion and violence, end the war in Gaza, return the hostages, ensure sufficient aid gets to Gazans, and lay the foundation for lasting peace in the region.”
