Congressman Dan Goldman Tapped for House Committee on Oversight and Accountability

Former Trump Impeachment Counsel and Federal Prosecutor Goldman Eager and Equipped to Stand Up to Committee’s MAGA Extremists and Rebuff Bogus Investigations

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) was recommended to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability by the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.  

"I look forward to joining with my Democratic colleagues and Ranking Member Raskin to be a strong bulwark against Republican overreach and misinformation on the Oversight Committee,” Congressman Dan Goldman said. “What the QAnon Caucus and MAGA extremists plan to use the Oversight Committee to achieve is nothing more than political propaganda. Even worse, it’s a waste of time and taxpayer money. I look forward to using my prior experience to expose MAGA conspiracy theories and conduct meaningful oversight in support of NY-10's families, freedoms, and future.”

Under the leadership of Ranking Member Jamie Raskin, Goldman will join Democrats on the powerful House committee responsible for providing critical transparency to the American people and for holding bad actors accountable. Goldman is well equipped to serve the American people by providing oversight into corporate bad actors, special interests and corruption in Government.

House Republicans, on the other hand, have made it clear that they intend to use the Committee to promote their conspiracy-filled political agenda. As part of his backroom dealing to secure the Speaker’s gavel, Kevin McCarthy packed the Oversight Committee with the QAnon Caucus, installing extremists like Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar. And under the leadership of Chairman Comer, the Oversight Committee has already begun going after the Biden Family, an overtly political move intended solely to hurt Democrats before the 2024 election.
