Congressman Goldman has introduced:
Showing Up for Students Act to provide $280 million in additional funding for the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the U.S. Department of Education, doubling its funding from fiscal year 2023. The Office for Civil Rights is responsible for protecting the civil rights of students in American schools, including from incidents related to antisemitism and other shared ancestry and religious discrimination.
Goldman is a member of the Equality Caucus and the Bipartisan Task Force on Addressing Antisemitism.

New York, NY – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) today led 8 of his New York City House Democratic colleagues in sending an oversight letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Todd Lyons demanding ICE comply with Section 527(a) of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 and stop denying members of Congress access to facilities that ICE is using to house immigrants. The demand letter follows ICE’s refusal, in direct violation of Section 527(a), to allow Congressman Goldman to investigate the 10th Floor of the 26 Federal Plaza federal building in Lower Manhattan on June 18, where hundreds of immigrants are reportedly being detained.

“The newly-released data from the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) 2024 Annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents is tragic, unacceptable, and once again, record-breaking. The Audit tabulated a record 9,354 antisemitic incidents across the United States by the ADL last year – a 5% increase year over year and the highest number on record since ADL began tracking antisemitic incidents 46 years ago. This continued surge in antisemitism further represents a 344% increase over the annual average for the past five years and a 893% increase over the annual average for the past 10 years.

"The Pennsylvania State Police has now confirmed that the Passover attack on Governor Shapiro and his family was motivated by antisemitism.
"Governor Shapiro is the Governor of Pennsylvania and has nothing to do with Israel’s foreign policy, yet he was targeted as an American Jew by a radicalized extremist who blames the Governor for Israel’s actions. That is textbook antisemitism.

Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Congresswoman Julie Johnson (TX-32), Congresswoman Emily Randall (WA-06) and 79 other members of Congress in sending a letter to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought urging him to reject the recently introduced proposal requiring applicants to list their ‘biological sex at birth’ on their identification and limit the options for identification to male and female. The members urged Vought to abandon these changes, which can subject transgender people to harassment, discrimination, and potential violence.

Congressman Dan Goldman joined Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez (NY-07) in introducing legislation to award the Congressional Gold Medal to Arturo Alfonso Schomburg, an Afro-Latino, Puerto Rican historian, writer, and activist in honor of his groundbreaking work in preserving and celebrating the history of the African Diaspora. Schomberg immigrated to New York City in 1891 and became a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance. His personal collection of over 10,000 books, manuscripts, and artifacts was acquired by the New York Public Library in 1926, laying the foundation for what is now the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
