New York, NY– Congressman Dan Goldman today hosted an event for Jewish and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month to celebrate the historic connection between two communities and present congressional proclamations to four constituents for their continued leadership in both communities.

"The Jewish and AANHPI communities share a deep, historic bond—especially here in New York City, where they've helped shape the fabric of our culture and history," Congressman Dan Goldman said. "For centuries, both communities have endured discrimination and harassment, yet have stood together in solidarity to fight prejudice in all it forms. As we continue to work to combat the concerning rise in antisemitism and anti-Asian hate in recent years, this month offers us the opportunity to celebrate their lasting contributions and to recognize these exceptional community members for their leadership among our communities and across our city."

Honorees included Betsy Jacobson, Executive Director of United Jewish Council of the East Side; Nicole Huang, Executive Director of Parent-Child Relationship Association;, Avi Greenstein, Chief Executive Officer of Boro Park Jewish Community Council;, and Tony Chuy, President of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association.

senior care, and healthcare.

Under his capable leadership, the BPJCC has grown from a little-known community council into a multimillion-dollar organization that has expanded across many fronts to assist the Boro Park community. The BPJCC has expanded beyond simply offering social services and has developed many innovative and impactful programs, including a Parent Engagement Community Center, the Brooklyn Communities United initiative, and continuously growing workforce development programs. The BPJCC is recognized and respected for its voice in promoting health equity and access to social services, raising awareness of the critical need to combat anti-Semitism and advance security endeavors for the Boro Park Community.
