Statement from Rep. Dan Goldman on Man Arrested for Threatening Zohran Mamdani

“I am disgusted to learn about the hateful terroristic threats against New York City Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, and I’m grateful that law enforcement has successfully arrested and charged the subject.  

 

In our democracy, there must be no room or tolerance for Islamophobia, racism, or hate crimes of any kind. Our disagreements must be resolved through civil debate, participation and engagement, not harassment, threats, or acts of violence. 

 

“I applaud law enforcement for swiftly apprehending and extraditing the suspect, and I hope that we can all join together to condemn political violence in all its forms.
