Congressman Dan Goldman Works to Ban High-Capacity Gun Magazines
Congressman Dan Goldman joined Congresswoman Diana DeGette (CO-01), Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01), and Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) in introducing the ‘Keep Americans Safe Act (KASA), which would reinstate a nationwide ban on the sale, transfer, possession, import, or manufacture of high-capacity gun magazines that hold more than fifteen rounds.
High-capacity magazines are defined as any magazine that holds more than fifteen rounds. The Keep Americans Safe Act would not only prevent future creation of high-capacity magazines, but would also empower law enforcement to identify, seize, and destroy illegally possessed firearms with high-capacity magazines.
Congressman Dan Goldman is committed to advocating for commonsense gun safety legislation that protects our communities. Earlier this year, Congressman Goldman cosponsored ‘Ethan’s Law,’ which would set federal standards for safe gun storage and establish incentives for states to create and implement safe gun storage laws. The legislation is named after Ethan Song, a teenager from Guilford, Connecticut who was tragically killed in 2018 by an unsecured gun in a neighbor’s home.
