Congressman Goldman has spent his life and career dedicated to addressing inequalities in the criminal justice system. As a contributor to Michelle Alexander’s The New Jim Crow and as a former federal prosecutor with the Southern District of New York, Congressman Goldman has experience with all sides of the criminal justice system and a deep understanding of how equity and accountability are critical components to public safety. Congressman Goldman is committed to addressing the root causes of crime and investing in reentry programs to end the cycle of recidivism.
Congressman Goldman is a member of the Second Chance Task Force.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Congressman Earl Blumenauer (OR-03) in introducing the ‘Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act,’ which ensures that legal cannabis businesses would be able to access banking and financial services. Currently, many legal cannabis businesses are prohibited from using traditional and secure banking systems, opening the door to potential tax evasion and increasing the risk of being targeted by criminal activity.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) today celebrated the passage of Congresswoman Lucy Mcbath (GA-07) and Congressman Kelly Armstrong’s (ND-AL) ‘Federal Prison Oversight Act’ which would establish new, independent oversight of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Congressman Goldman was an early cosponsor of the bipartisan bill.
