Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) in introducing the ‘Green New Deal for Public Housing Act of 2024’ which would invest as much as $234 billion over the next ten years into the nearly 1 million public housing units across the United States. This funding would be used to weatherize, electrify, and modernize American public housing so that it may serve as a model of efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency for the rest of the country.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) today released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2882, the ‘Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024,’ the second of two funding deals needed to fund the federal government and avoid a government shutdown. This funding package includes 6 bills: Defense; Financial Services and General Government; Homeland Security; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies; Legislative Branch; and State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs.

Washington, DC – As New York prepares for the long-awaited and critical implementation of congestion pricing, Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10), Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, and Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine today urged New York Governor Kathy Hochul to support an additional $90 million in funding to improve MTA bus service and expand the fare-free pilot program in New York’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 State budget. This appropriation is already included in the State Assembly and State Senate one-house budget resolutions.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) and Congresswoman Emilia Strong Sykes (OH-13) in introducing the ‘Stop Anti-Abortion Disinformation (SAD) Act’ to stop crisis pregnancy center organizations from using deceptive advertisements claiming to offer reproductive health care. The SAD Act would direct the Federal Trade Commission to prohibit unfair or deceptive advertising related to the provisions of abortion services and authorize the FTC to enforce these rules and collect penalties from organizations in violation.

This legislation would prohibit federal funding from being used to carry out litigation against health care providers performing abortions and would fund programs to provide them with legal assistance.
