Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (MD-08) and 16 of his Democratic committee colleagues in sending a letter to Chairman James Comer calling for the Oversight Committee to hold a hearing to address the gun violence epidemic plaguing this country following the Apalachee High School shooting in Winder, Georgia. According to reports, the 14-year-old gunman entered the school armed with an AR-15 firearm, the preferred tool of mass shooters, to kill his classmates.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) and Homeland Security Committee Ranking Member Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02) today introduced the ‘Enhancing Stakeholder Support and Outreach for Preparedness Grants Act,’ which would require the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide ongoing stakeholder outreach, education, technical assistance, and support to grantees of the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) and the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant programs.

New York, NY – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) today celebrated the House’s passage of the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2024 which includes key funding and policies to improve New York’s climate resiliency efforts. Congressman Goldman successfully secured language in the bill that mandates the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) perform a New York-New Jersey Harbor and Tributaries Focus Area Feasibility Study (HATS) that addresses the variety of flooding threats facing New York City including tidal and river flooding, heavy rainfall, groundwater emergence, erosion, and sea level rise.
