Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Congressman Jerry Nadler (NY-12) and local New York elected officials in releasing the following statement following the announcement that the New York State Department of Health determined that Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s closure plan is incomplete. NYSDH has requested Mount Sinai Beth Israel submit a new, comprehensive closure plan that includes information on the availability of medical health care, particularly emergency services, at other facilities in the community.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman joined Senator Schumer (D-NY), Senator Murray (D-WA), House Democratic Leader Jeffries (NY-08), Congresswoman Lee (CA-12) and 253 members of Congress in submitting an amicus brief to the Supreme Court of the United States in Moyle v. United States and Idaho v. United States, two consolidated cases concerning the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA). EMTALA is a federal law that requires hospitals that receive Medicare funding to provide necessary “stabilizing treatment” to patients experiencing medical emergencies, which can include abortion care.

New York, NY – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) and Congresswoman Grace Meng (NY-06) led eight of their colleagues from the New York City delegation in sending a letter to New York Governor Kathy Hochul urging the Governor to support an additional $90 million in funding to improve MTA bus service and expand the fare-free bus pilot program in New York’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 State budget. The initial pilot program, funded through last year’s State budget, created one fare-free bus route in each of the five boroughs.

This legislation would ensure people have access to accurate information about where and how to obtain abortion services across the country, how to avoid anti-abortion centers intended to deceive patients, and how to identify misinformation about abortion care.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Congresswoman Susan Wild (PA-07) in introducing the ‘Access to Family Building Act’ to protect the right to use in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technologies (ART) to start their families. This legislation would establish a federal right to access IVF and other ART services, thereby pre-empting any state effort to limit such access and ensuring no hopeful parent—or their doctors—are punished for trying to start or grow a family.

This funding would be used to weatherize, electrify, and modernize American public housing so that it may serve as a model of efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency for the rest of the country.
