Brooklyn, NY – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) yesterday presented Makor Care and Services Network with a $643,600 Community Project Funding Grant Award, which was included in the final passage of HR 4366, ‘The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024.’ Goldman secured $9,036,948 for community projects in NY-10 in the FY 2024 appropriations process.

Brooklyn, NY – Congressman Dan Goldman, State Senator Andrew Gounardes and Councilmember Alexa Avilés today issued the following statement on the future of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal after the announcement that the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) will be taking over ownership of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal and initiating a community-led master planning and visioning process for the future of the Terminal. Congressman Goldman will serve as Chair and Senator Gounardes and Councilmember Avilés will serve as Vice Chairs of the Task Force that will have oversight over EDC’s master planning process.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) today introduced the ‘Showing Up for Students Act,’ which provides $280 million in additional funding for the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) at the U.S. Department of Education, doubling its funding from fiscal year 2023. The OCR is the office responsible for protecting the civil rights of students in American schools, including from incidents related to antisemitism and other shared ancestry and religious discrimination. In March, this legislation was introduced in the Senate by Senator Bob Casey (D-PA). The “Showing Up for Students” Act is endorsed by the NAACP, Nexus Project, and the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.
