Washington DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10), Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Congressman Tony Cárdenas (CA-29), and Congressman Gus M. Bilirakis (FL-12) introduced the ‘Michelle Alyssa Go Act’ to increase the number of federal Medicaid-eligible in-patient psychiatric beds for individuals who are seeking treatment for both mental health and substance use disorders. This bipartisan legislation would also require mental health facilities that receive federal Medicaid funding to meet nationally recognized, evidence-based standards for mental health or substance use disorder programs.

Washington, DC – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) joined Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) in introducing the ‘Affordability is Access Act’ to ensure the affordability of FDA-approved over-the-counter (OTC) birth control. Following FDA approval of Opill, a daily-use OTC oral birth control pill, this legislation would require private health insurers to cover the full costs for patients under their plans.

The bill provides permanent and mandatory funding for the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) and updates an outdated funding formula to prevent a future funding shortfall and ensure that survivors and first responders don’t lose access to care.
